About Jr. Medics

Training next generation of first-aiders

Jr. Medics is a community outreach initiative run through Queen's Medical School that aims to teach the basics of first aid to elementary and middle schoolaged students in the Kingston community. Our workshops focus on injury prevention, injury response, and introducing various careers in health care!

Our workshops are free and are led by volunteer medical students. We utilize interactive teaching methods to engage the young students we train; running through simulations of incidents involving chocking, cuts, allergic reactions, burns, CPR & more.

Our mission is to equip young students with the basic knowledge of how to react to emergency situations, to start them on the journey to learning more first aid, and to increase their comfort in interacting with health care professionals.
